In 1998 I made one of my favorite purchases of all time, a 55 inch Toshiba rear projection television. As everyone knows, once you own a big screen TV it is your civic duty to host a Super Bowl party. These are photos from that party held at my house on January 31, 1999.
I announced the party with the following email:
SUPER BOWL XXXII - January 31st, 1999 - 3 PM PST on FOX
Where will you be when the Atlanta Falcons battle the Denver Broncos in
Miami?
How about a massive Super Bowl party with booze, food, high priced
escorts and of course, RYAN'S 55 INCHES OF FUN! Yes, it's time to whip
out the cinco-cinco machine for the biggest football game of the year!
Of course the Atlanta/Denver matchup kinda blows compared to a
Vikings/Broncos game, but the beer will flow and the TV screen is still
huge all the same. Plus, if Curt comes down everyone can rag on him
about his double-digit favorite Vikings and their choke loss to the
Atlanta. DOH!
So RSVP ASAP and tell your friends if you have any. Figure to show up
around noonish and be ready to ingest chips, BBQ, beer and an assortment
of other perishables. Bring money if you want to participate in an
assortment of "just for fun except for the fact that money will change
hands" betting pools. The bank of Abraham will be taking all action,
Visa and Master Card accepted.
The party went really well and I think everyone had a great time. Dane and I had about 35 people there with lots of food, tons of beer and a pretty lame game. Enjoy the pictures!!!
