It took me a while, but finally the Mardi Gras pictures are here. I had planned on writing a huge story about our adventures but I think that Mardi Gras is so unbelievable you really need to check it out for yourself. You won't regret it, but you may not want to go back. Ever. I think I could return, but I am going to have to take a few years off.
Our group of 8 was Jessica, Brandon, Elaine, Brian, Tye, Kevin, Woody and myself. We stayed a few blocks from Bourbon Street and were right on a couple of the parade routes. Parades are important because parades get you beads. And in the Big Easy, beads get you just about anything.
Our 5 day stay went as following:
That about sums it up. You didn't even have to drink in the bars, there are stands all over Bourbon Street where you can get Hurricanes or Beers and drink in the shoulder to shoulder packed streets. And the food was awesome. If you like spicy Cajun food, crawfish (Remember- first you suck the head, then you eat the tail), Po'Boys (submarine sandwiches), gumbo and Jambalaya you would be in heaven like I was.
