Ryan's 1/2 Birthday

The follow was taken from an email I sent out to friends recently...

First, I guess I could mention my 1/2 birthday was yesterday. I am now 26 and one half years old (and one day). Whoop-dee-doo you say? That is what I would say too, but my office mates were not thinking along the same lines as you and I. It seems that they forgot to have a celebration on my real birthday in December and by the time we got back from Christmas break and Aruba, it was already well into January. At this point they decided to wait until my 1/2 birthday to celebrate. When I got back from lunch today I found that they took the liberty of redecorating my cube for me. First, there was a 6'X7' tent pitched in the middle of the floor, taking up most of my cube space. I won the tent from raising money for the march of dimes walk-a-thon and had it delivered to work. I left it here while I was away on business and it fell into the wrong hands I guess. Then the tent was filled with balloons and TONS of confetti. There must be a billion pieces in here. There was confetti all over and in my desk, briefcase, computer, keyboard, laptop, phone, chair etc. There is silly string all over everything (by the way, if this happens to you, get it off before it hardens) and streamers strung across the doorway, walls, my chair and computer. I can't see the top of my desk or color of my carpet because of all of the confetti. It took me over an hour just so I could clear a way to get to my computer to check email. People keep walking by wishing happy birthday to me and I try to explain that it isn't my birthday but now I am just giving up and letting people think it is my birthday. Even the CEO came by to give some birthday wishes and he got a good laugh at my expense. The janitors are not going to like me.
